Paul Asbury Seaman When discussing artists this consistently masterful, it’s futile to call one work “best,” but this is an exceptional album. The fuzzy, drawn-out bansuri flute notes hark back to Jon Hassel’s seminal “Fourth World Possible Music” series with Brian Eno in the early-1970s. Three long-form tracks at the heart of this album allow listeners to settle into the transcendent states being conjured here. The sequenced, full-album track is a thoughtful and generous bonus. Favorite track: Winds of Spirit Three.

Frank "Hawk" Owen From the opening moments of bansuri flute and soothing drones, the tensions of body-mind release. Then, with the in-flow of tabla and frame drum rhythms, the soul of the listener is granted a pair of wings. Perfect for yoga, hillwalking, art-making, or cloud-gazing. This is healing music in a time that needs it. Favorite track: The Winds of Spirit (bonus track).

about

Byron and Mark have gathered again to create a deeply meditative album inspired by their critically acclaimed 2019 release ‘Persistent Visions’. During the initial recording phase of ‘The Winds of Spirit’, an increasing intuition emerged for these long-time collaborators to penetrate even deeper into the dimensions of silence and space between the musical notes and each breath. Byron’s easy and steady percussive magic, holding space for Mark’s hauntingly mesmerizing exploration of Bansuri flutes, conveys a sense of the Winds of Spirit gently blowing through the flutes and the entire sonic landscape – in much the same way it does through our lives. The listener is invited into this arising metaphor – immersed in the flow of existence with a calm sense of trust that carries us home.

With additional musical support from Dashmesh and Paul Casper, ‘The Winds of Spirit’, provides heart-centered sonic support for extended meditation practices, massage and body work, entheogenic and empathogenic exploration.

Designed for continuous, uninterrupted listening.

Includes the 4 tracks with short fades applied for individual track listening or placing in playlists. PLUS a bonus track of the entire album for an uninterrupted listening experience exactly as we mixed and mastered it for the CD.
